After 11 years as a well-known yoga instructor in the Manhattan area, Lindsey Volz took a new step to establish her vision and expand her brand by opening her first yoga studio, Find Your Yoga Wellness Studio, on the west side of Manhattan. Previously, Lindsey rented studio space through another studio, and transitioning to her own space gives her the ability to create the wellness experience she wants to see in the region.

“I wanted to have a wellness space where everyone was included, and everybody works under the same hood. I wanted something more community based, and I also wanted the option to have a sauna, and to have showers.” She shares that she wanted her studio not to be a place where you “fly in and fly out,” but one you consider as a second or third home. She imagines aloud her hope for her clients. “You feel comfortable here, you feel comfortable to talk to people, to be sweaty and move through your day. Instead of making your full day around your practice, you fit it more in to your everyday life.”
While Find Your Yoga Wellness Studio offers yoga classes, they also offer a variety of services through the studio to meet the needs of their clients and focus on their overall wellness and long-term health. She continues, “I have studied nutrition for many years. I’m getting ready to finish my functional medicine certification, and it’s a holistic approach to wellness. We’re helping with detoxification, mindfulness, meditation, movement, community, touch. All of it is a very important part of our wellness, and we try to bring all of that into the studio.” Lindsey shared that in addition to their various wellness-based services, they also connect individuals with lab testing to check their B12, vitamin D, thyroid, and G.I. map.

“Wellness isn’t a passive sport anymore. We have to be working on all fronts, paying attention to what’s going in our body, how we move our body, and just how we are physically in our bodies, talking to our nervous system, and this is a place where we teach you how to do that.”
Lindsey shares that two motivations compelled her to move forward with her dream, first her husband, whom she credits for his patience. And second, she adds, “Honestly, just this relentless tug to show people that life can be better, and it is so relentless, and I’m here for it.”
She adds that the moment to open the studio was not right until now. “It’s been a long journey. I wasn’t ready until now. I didn’t know what I need to know, and I’m very thankful for my family supporting me on this crazy journey, and my community that has supported me and has found a need for connection in the wellness world.”
Looking ahead, one of Lindsey’s business goals is to be at 50% capacity for all of her classes within her first year. With the studio offering a breathtaking sunrise view of greater Manhattan, it seems unlikely local yogis will be able to stay away.
