Rockin K’s, a K-State Campus-Based Eatery Featuring a Plant-Based and Traditional Options

An exterior view of a modern building with large windows, featuring a restaurant named "Rockin' X's" with a patio covered by a purple awning. The peaceful outdoor seating area overlooks an open grassy field with some distant buildings. The sky is clear and blue.

Today’s featured business is part of our #StartSmall series, encouraging members of our region to start their holiday shopping with local small business first. Through the month of December, we’ll get to know the faces of small business through conversation with local business owners.

Today we meet Scott Sieben, owner of Rockin K’s. With his new restaurant opening during one of the most tumultuous years in recent memory, it’s been great to hear how it came together despite all odds.

What’s your business backstory?

I have owned 2 other local restaurants in town: Mr. K’s since 2010 & Kite’s Bar & Grill since 2017. We were approached by the K-State Foundation in April about an open restaurant location in the Foundation Office Park and we loved the location and the ability to work with the Foundation and their other tenants.

What do you offer Manhattan that no one else does?

We have a wide variety of items from a Plant-Based burger, turkey burgers and healthy bowls, to our hot roast beef sandwich. We feel the menu has the ability to please anyone in your family and we offer our famous cookie bakes as well!

Tell us why you love what you do.

I love providing a quality product at a great value for the people of Manhattan that is also locally-owned and operated.

What experience do you want people to have in your restaurant?

We want people to feel comfortable in our restaurants by providing great food and drinks and quality service at an affordable price.

While you’re shopping this holiday season, don’t forget to take a break and grab some lunch at Rockin K’s. Branch out and try something new, or stick with an old favorite; you know that you can’t go wrong with a cookie bake!
